Locksmith Safe Repair – Safe Opened – There are a number of different safes on the market today and choosing the right one for your needs is crucial in keeping what you need to protect out of harm’s way. There are basically four different types of safes: jewelry, fire, burglary and gun.
The first step is choosing the best safe for your valuables.
Jewelry Safes:
Locksmith Safe Repair – These safes are flexible compared to your typical fire, gun or burglary safes. They have delicate interiors, move able drawers and ample space within them. These safes are not only built to be discrete, but they’re built to last. If you want your diamonds to shine like the day you bought them, investing in one of these babies is a must.
Fire safes are typically used for important documents such as passports and wills. These types of documents don’t usually excite burglars, so leaving these types of safes ‘open’ as counter intuitive as that sounds, is your best bet. A potential burglar will open it, see there’s nothing of value to them and hopefully leave your stuff!
Locksmith Safe Repair – Vastly more secure than a simple fire safe. Heavy, durable and hard to break into, a well-built burglary safe is normally hidden in the home somewhere – behind a portrait, in the closet, under the floor, etc. These types of safes come as either stand alone, floor or wall safes (easier to conceal, as mentioned above).
A must for many Nevadans, these safes come in a variety of different sizes and are crucial in keeping your home safe. A gun in the wrong hands of a potential intruder or loved one is the last thing you want to happen. These safes are built to be extremely sturdy and possess complex locking mechanisms to keep those you want out, out.
Depending on the safe you have chosen for your valuables, the directions will vary on setting the combination and utilizing the product. But, the following rules will apply to your safe if it has a dial and a key lock on the handle, or a dial, key lock and handle, and your safe combination has 4 numbers.
- Start by turning the dial to the RIGHT a minimum of 4 turns (this clears the dial of any previous attempts) and STOP on the FIRST number of your 4 digit combination.
- Turn the dial to the LEFT passing the SECOND number TWICE, stopping on the SECOND number of your combination on THIRD turn.
- Turn the dial to the RIGHT passing the THIRD number of your combination once, stopping on the THIRD number of your combination on the next turn.
- Turn the dial to the RIGHT to the FOURTH number of your combination and stop.
If you have a key, unlock the safe! If you are just using the handle to attempt to enter the safe, turn the handle to the RIGHT and attempt to open.
Now, as a 4 combination lock, many safes may also begin the opposite way. Clearing the dial may mean starting from the left rather than the right, following the same set of rules but opposite directions. It varies depending on the professional grade of the safe, the type and what kind of lock it is.
Locksmith Safe Repair – An easy alternative to a combination lock? Electronic Keypads. We love the old school, but if they frustrate you to no end and you’re consistently getting locked out of your safe when you really need it, an electronic keypad may be the best solution.
